#colombia, #Iraq, #lebanon, #Libya, #Mali, #Niger , #democraticrepublicofcongo, #ukraine , #venezuela, #Jordan,

The outcome of the Project is to increase Accountability to women and girls in emergencies,

through sustainable implementation of CTA at field level through collective action

project Aim For GBV:

This project brings a transformative approach to an ambitious global initiative (the Call to Action on Protection from Gender-Based Violence in Emergencies) by shifting power from HQ decision-makers in the global North to women and girls, #GBV service providers and responsible governments in the global South. in order to connect and sustain existing progress at HQ level with real leadership from women and girls in affected communities.

The goal of the CTA is to drive change and foster accountability in the humanitarian system so that humanitarian interventions include the policies, systems and mechanisms necessary to mitigate/prevent violence against women and girls from the earliest phases of an emergency, and to provide safe, comprehensive and accountable services to those affected by GBV.

GBV:

Local actors will be supported in defining humanitarian aid approaches by catalyzing increased representation and leadership of women and girls, specifically women´s organizations, in decision making structures and the delivery of humanitarian aid. By scaling existing capacity of WLOs to prioritize, design, staff, implement and coordinate GBV prevention and response programming, they will be able to take individual action to address gaps/weaknesses in current humanitarian interventions under six thematic outcome areas in the Road Map.

Locally owned CTA collective action will address the root causes of GBV and coordinate effective response and risk mitigation. Over the past two years, CAFI partners have coordinated bespoke country-based action through existing WLO and GBV coordination structures at country level to meaningfully engage local actors and strengthen the technical and institutional capacity of GBV actors and support WLOs to hold international humanitarian actors accountable to women and girls .

During the remaining period of the global roadmap, the expanded CAFI consortium intends to sustain and expand this work to the Latin America region and the Ukraine crisis, to continue to build equitable and inclusive participation and governance of the CTA initiative and to drive sustainable progress in @GBV capacity in the communities where it is most needed.
