What We Do
Our Sectors
Women Empowerment .
HDA Believes in women’s power and advocate for women’s inclusion in all the decision making positions. HDA implemented several projects of social cohesion, peacebuilding and conflict resolution at the country level (either with Syrian refugees and Lebanese). HDA works in Strengthening women capacities in order to empower them and include them in the job market, to have an important role in the economic growth. Supported women during the municipal and parliament election through capacity building: leadership and communication skills.
During Beirut Blast in 2020, HDA supported hundreds of women and young girls to rebuild themselves and their communities. HDA implemented several livelihood projects for women and girls in order to improve their livelihood through providing life skills and enroll them in the market, and become self -generators, so they become economically independent.
Child protection .
HDA is an active member in the child protection sector in Lebanon and do provide Psychosocial support for the vulnerable children regardless of their nationalities.
HDA provide support for children and their caregivers.
HDA provides case managment for the persons in need and coordinate with different stakeholders and NGOs for referrals.
Different recreational activities are provided all over Lebanon in order to help and support children and their caregivers to improve their psychosocial well bein
Education
HDA is an active member in the Education Working group at the National Level.
HDA supports the Public schools by doing the needed renovation.
During the Syrian crisis, HDA was involved in the RACE project and supported MEHE in the outreach and the UNICEF campaign in enrolling the drop out children.
Protection .
Protection is one of the imporatnt sectors that HDA is working on.
HDA provide all the protection needs for vulnerable persons regardless of their nationalities.
HDA team work with DO NO HARM and respect the confidentiality of the persons.
PSEA is an important component in all the projects that are implemented by HDA .
HDA respects gender equality and advocate for it.
During the Syrian crisis, HDA provided protection to the Refugees and was in close coordination with UNHCR and the other partners.
Mental Health
HDA provide Mental Health services in it premises. HDA implements several projects on Mental Health with different donors and partners. HDA is an active member in the National Mental Health strategy.
Psychologists and professionals provide very high quality services.
Shelter .
HDA is an active member in the Shelter working group at the National level.
HDA implemented several projects related to upgrading of shelters and providing shelters for vulnerable people.
During the Syrian crisis, HDA supported in improving the condition of the informal settlements and the collective shelters.
HDA supported in construction of Latrines in the informal settlements and to avoid floading.
Solid Waste Management .
HDA is an active member in the Solid Management task force group.
HDA implemented several Solid Waste Management project such as the “Bahr Bala Plastic” in the region of Chekka-North of Lebanon and funded by the EU . The objective of this project was to reduce the use of the single used plastic, upcycling, and recycling. Another project was implemented in the Chouf area; the objective of this project was to raise awareness on sorting at the source and distribution of bins for the municipalities to support them in enhancing their solid Waste management.
GBV
at the national level, HDA is a member of the GBV working group. HDA has an expert team who works on GBV prevention and response, including awareness raising sessions, case management and psychosocial support.

Since 2020, HDA is partner of the Call to Action on Protection from Gender-Based Violence Field Implementation (CAFI), a project working with Women’s Led Organizations (WLOs) to drive change and foster Gender-Based Violence (GBV) prevention, risk mitigation, and response in humanitarian settings.

HDA works on GBV prevention and response, providing GBV response services to women and girls in host communities of Syrian Refugees in Lebanon.
HDA fights for equality despite facing repression from government, political and religious parties. Supports women and young girls’ victims of GBV and provide quality services.
On the regional level, HDA and AWO work with other Women’s Rights Organizations (WROs) and Women-Led Organizations (WLOs) through regional networks advocating for GBV in emergencies and VAWG prevention and response, as well for women’s rights. As part of the regional work, AWO built a network of WRO/WLO in the MENA region within the CAFI framework, where HDA is a partner organization. As a result of this process, the MENA regional Road Map of the Call to Action on Protection from GBV was launched in September 2022, and this project would support its implementation in the region, mainly to create a digital platform for GBV prevention.
HDA is the focal point for the CAFI project implementation at the national level, partnering with WLO on the ground for activities implementation. In addition, both organizations worked to design the MENA Road Map for the Call to Action on Protection from Gender-Based Violence
Health
HDA is an active partner in the Health working group at the National level.
HDA being a UNICCEF partner implemented several Health projects such as ARIA(Accelerated Routine Immunization Activities) that provided Polio and Measels vaccines to all chlidren under 15 years regardless of their nationalities.
Moreover HDA supportes PHCs by building their capacity in order to provide quality services.
HDA provides awareness sessions on Exclusive Breast feeding.
Development.
HDA is very active in the development level, since it is in a very close coordination with all the Municipalities all over Lebanon in order to design development projects that can fill the gap and needs of the community.
HDA conducted several need assessments to identify the priorities and the needs of the municipalities and create opportunities for Youth.
HDA designs projects that can improve the rural areas and create job opportunities for Women and Youth.
Livelihood .
HDA is an active member in the Livelihood Working group at the National Level.
HDA implements projects that empower Women and Youth that consequently will enhance their Livelihood.
HDA provide vocational trainings and cash assistance for vulnerable persons to improve their daily income hence to enhance their Livelihood.
HDA support start ups and SMEs, in coordination with the private sector.
Relief.
Humanitarian relief is core in the mission of HDA, and it is essential in providing assistance quickly and efficiently to those in need. Our primary objective of humanitarian aid is to save lives, alleviate suffering, and maintain human dignity. HDA avoids making people suffer and helps people who are suffering.
In August 4, 2020 HDA offered emergency and relief assistance to more than 5000 beneficiaries. Since 2016, HDA succeeded to provide relief support and services to Syrian Refugees who were in need.
Advocacy .
HDA Promotes women’s issues and lobby for reform that improve women situation in Lebanon and advocate for changing laws such as early marriage, rape and allowing Lebanese Women to provide their nationalities to their children.
HDA works on advocacy for legal reforms on child, early and forced marriage (CEFM). HDA working on advocacy to end violence and discrimination against women and girls, and raising the awareness about VAWG on the grassroots level.
advocates for the recognition of women’s rights as human rights and for the promotion of legal and political reforms that catalyze positive change. HDA builds partnerships to create solidarity among women and aggregate their efforts to end discrimination and violence against women. HDA participated in the consultation of drafting the women’s strategy in Lebanon in line with the Law 1325 by the Lebanese women Commission in Lebanon. HDA is participating in the consultation to introduce Gender in the Anti- corruption strategy in Lebanon implemented by the UNDP.
HDA fights for human rights in general and women and girl’s rights especially.

Social Stability .
HDA is an active member in the Social Stability working group at the National level.
HDA promotes strengthening municipalities’ communities’ systems’ and institutions’ ability to mitigate tensions and prevent conflict, and ensuring early warning within the response strategy.
